The Wartburg to Walker Update #1
Greetings from Dubuque, Iowa!
Right now I am about to start week 5 of Summer Greek, which is an intensive language program that teaches seminary students a year’s worth of New Testament Greek in five and a half weeks. Summer Greek has been an interesting introduction to Seminary. My days have been filled with meeting new people and exploring Dubuque, as well as studying 6 to 8 hours a night. Life has been moving pretty fast. Just before moving down here, I was guiding canoe trips in the Boundary Waters through Camp Vermilion’s Canoe country program.
A little over a week ago, I got a chance to hang out with Ben before he made the journey north. He showed me a few hangout spots and introduced me to some new people. Then last weekend, my parents made the trek down here to visit me. It was wonderful to have them visit and bring the rest of my stuff so I could finally finish moving into my dorm room. It was really nice to be able to show my parents around my new surroundings; however, it was tough to see them leave at the end of a wonderful weekend.
After completing Summer Greek in a week and a half, I have a week of orientation and learning called Prolog Week. During this week I will register for classes, meet the rest of my classmates, and more learn about the seminary and the surrounding area. I am also planning a trip north at some point in the next month. This is the first update of many to come, and I am looking forward to keeping in touch and share with you my learning. Thank you for all of your prayers and support.
