Rotational Sunday School Volunteer Training

On Sunday, September 7th during Fellowship Hour Stacy will be giving a brief explanation of what our Sunday School program is needing in terms of volunteers. For those who are interested, we will be doing a more detailed presentation and training on Saturday, September 13th from 9:30-11:30 with a lunch being served by the Board of Education. Please consider joining us to find out how your talents and gifts can be utilized with our youth! Sign up with Michelle in the church office so we know how many people to plan for.

Release Time Teachers are needed for our 10 sessions during the school year. This opportunity to share the Good News with our 1-6th graders is an awesome experience for those involved in the mornings or afternoon sessions. Lessons are planned and prepared by Stacy; you get to come and be a part of the fun. Mornings from 8:45-10 a.m.ish and afternoons from 1-3 p.m.

Sunday School Teachers are needed for 4-5 week rotations. Sign up in the Narthex or contact Stacy Christianson. We are in need of volunteers to assist with Presenting, Shepherding, and Nursery Caregivers. Each of the areas is listed below, as well as the Rotation Schedules. Please sign up in the Narthex or contact Stacy Christianson

Presenters—share the story with youth in a variety styles, including art projects, snack making, movie watching, putting together skits, or playing games. You’ll work with each age group as they rotate through each week. You’ll be given a lesson plan, supplies will be found for you, and help will be given to clarify any questions you have, but your creativity and feedback are very welcome! You can sign up for one rotation or for all—we’re happy to have you with us!

Shepherds—are individuals who stay with the same age group throughout the year. At this time, we are looking for a ½ year commitment, but encourage you to stay with the group the entire year, if possible. The Shepherd attends opening with the group, takes attendance, manages name tags, assists Presenters as needed, and provides a presence that can be counted on for the group. Your ability to get to know (and love!) our kids makes you a very important component to a positive Sunday school experience.

Nursery Care Givers—are individuals who will be available in the nursery to watch birth-two year olds each week from 9:35-10:20 a.m. Due to the ages we are looking at, we will not be implementing any set activities, but will encourage play and interaction with nursery toys, other children, and care givers.
