BIBLE STUDY CIRCLES - All Year
Circles offer women of all ages the opportunity for fellowship and growth through Bible study. Visitors and seasonal residents are welcome to join us at any gathering. See the Calendar for dates. Check the "Herald of Hope" or contact the church office for location.

QUILTERS – September-April

Make quilts for Lutheran World Relief, Hope’s HS graduates, recipients of Holiday boxes, fire victims, and others.  No experience is necessary!

CRAFTERS – January-March

Make a variety of craft items for the Christmas in July sale.  Work at home or join others working at church.  New or inexperienced crafters are welcome!

USED CLOTHING SALEMay 1-3, 2008

Just ONE sale, but a BIG one -- usable clothing is sold by the bag to bargain hunters in the community. You can contribute your gently used clothing, help with set up and sales, or bring a friend and come shop.

BAKE SALES – July & September

Bring your homemade cookies, pastries, breads, cakes & pies, or help set-up & sell during our Christmas in July or Walker’s Ethnic Fest.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY – July 15, 2008

We invite the community to a salad luncheon and sale of baked goods, crafts & Fair Trade products.  You can help by bringing a homemade salad, Scandinavian Christmas cookies, craft items or baked goods, by helping with set up or sales, or just by coming to enjoy lunch and shop!

CHRISTMAS BOXES – December 6, 2008

In December we fill boxes with food, gifts and quilts for 50 or more area families in need.  Your donation of food or money helps to meet this community need.

FAIR TRADE COFFEE PROJECT

Support coffee, tea and cocoa growers by purchasing and using fairly traded coffee, tea, cocoa & chocolate.  Available between services the 2nd Sunday each month.

LIBRARY – All Year

Books and other publications are available for reference or check-out.  Donations accepted too.

OUTREACH PROJECTS – All Year

We support local needs as well as efforts of the Women of the ELCA, the NE MN Synod and Lutheran World Relief to meet needs of individuals or health and social service providers here and in third world countries.  Donations of money or supplies as listed on the bins in Fellowship Hall are appreciated!  Projects we are supporting in 2008:

  • Conference Penny Project (Shirley Dowson)
  • LWR Sewing Kits (TBD)
  • LWR School Kits (Dianna Houska)

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY – All Year

Knit or crochet shawls for those in need of healing, comfort and prayer.  Call for instructions.

PRAYER CHAINS – All Year

By phone and e-mail prayer requests are passed along to those who have agreed to help by using the power of prayer in time of need.

ALTAR GUILD – All Year

Teams of women and men set up communion and faithfully tend the altar for worship services.  Additional members are welcome!

The money we raise during the year is disbursed as cash or used for in-kind gifts (quilts, school kits, food basketes, etc.) to minister to and meet a variety of needs in our church, our community, our country and the world.
